Job Title: Director of Retail, Full Time 

Position Overview: 

Ranger Station is a leading fragrance manufacturing company, renowned for high-quality, nature-inspired candles and perfumes. We are seeking a Director of Retail who will manage our retail stores in Nashville and New York City, with additional stores on the way.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Performance and Operations Management

  • Act as the General Manager for both Nashville and NYC stores, ensuring alignment in sales strategies, customer engagement, and operational integrity.
  • Collaborate with Store Leads in each location, who co-manage daily operations, to drive sales and achieve budget objectives while maintaining profitability.
  • Regularly analyze and compare the performance of both stores, leveraging competitor trends and market data to inform strategy and growth opportunities.
  • Actively engage in both stores by leading sales efforts on the floor, fostering a customer-first culture, and ensuring exceptional service standards.
  • Oversee stock levels in both stores to optimize full-price sales, plan for product launches, and manage inventory flow effectively.
  • Provide cross-location training to associates and Store Leads, focusing on product knowledge, brand strategy, and customer engagement to ensure a unified brand experience across both locations.

Performance, Talent Management, and Client Development

  • Oversee performance check-ins and establish goals for all employees.
  • Create action plans and development paths for team members.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Ensure consistent onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Manage staff scheduling to drive sales and elevate customer service.
  • Implement top client strategy to retain and develop high-potential clients.
  • Stay informed on competitors, fashion trends, and industry innovations.

Store Expansion

  • Assist in opening new stores by obtaining necessary permits and coordinating store build-outs.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive launch plans for new store openings, including staffing, marketing, and promotional activities.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to new store managers to ensure successful operation and integration into the company's retail network.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of sales management experience in retail, luxury retail, or service-related industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred
  • Ability to analyze selling reports, identify business trends, and react quickly to the needs of the business
  • Proven ability to drive positive customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver measurable results
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Industry awareness and strong business acumen
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills
  • Passion for the fragrance industry
  • Flexibility to work a retail schedule which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
